Client Projects
As a Technical Assistance Partner of the Justice40 Accelerator (J40a), A&A provided tailored support to cohort members. We delivered workshops on organizational readiness and contract procurement, facilitated peer learning sessions, and offered program navigation to strengthen funding access and partnerships. This customized approach gave organizations practical tools, connections, and technical expertise to complete key tasks efficiently, while also building long-term capacity to compete for and manage federal grants.

EPA Community Change Grants
A&A developed eight Community Change Grant (CCG) applications that together secured $105 million in Tracks 1 and 2. Although not every submission was awarded due to the highly competitive process, each client gained valuable experience and materials to strengthen future efforts. The process provided expertise in navigating complex federal applications and produced a collection of high-quality resources, equipping organizations to continue pursuing opportunities with greater confidence and readiness.

Bronzeville Smart E-Mobility Program
A&A collaborated with community partners to prepare a competitive application for the Bronzeville Smart E-Mobility program. We delivered a technical grant submission demonstrating the community’s capacity to design a sound plan for electric vehicles and e-mobility alternatives, such as e-bikes and shared services. The proposal emphasized equitable and sustainable transportation, positioning Bronzeville as a leader in integrating innovative mobility solutions that expand access and reduce environmental impacts.

A&A, in partnership with EPN, created guidance tools to help clients interpret and act on the EPA’s Solar for All Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO). Our team developed notice of intent materials, program narratives, and a Technical Assistance Strategy to transform NOFO guidance into competitive applications. These resources enabled clients to align clean energy goals with federal requirements and position themselves to convert funding opportunities into fully actionable, funded projects.

In partnership with the Institute for Local Innovations, Inc., A&A supported EcoWomanist’s Community Change Grant (CCG) application. The project focused on improving outcomes for disadvantaged communities, advancing clean infrastructure, and promoting eco-spirituality for Black women. Our team drafted the whole application, designed project procedures, brokered partner agreements, and developed a readiness approach for both pre- and post-award stages. This comprehensive package positioned the organization as an effective and collaborative steward of federal funds.

YouthBuild San Jose
A&A partnered with YouthBuild San Jose to expand funding opportunities for vulnerable youth. Our team developed detailed budgets to monitor annual spending, drafted letters of intent to federal agencies, and advanced their mission to new funders. We also prepared a comprehensive grant application showcasing the organization’s growth, history, and future vision. These efforts enhanced YouthBuild’s ability to secure long-term investments and strengthen programming for the young people they serve.
